What you need:

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tsp paprika (sweet or smoked)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter (more to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 onion, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (more to taste)
  • 1 lime (more for serving)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (or cilantro)

Step 1 Toss the shrimp with paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Step 2 Heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 4-6 minutes until beginning to soften. Add the garlic and cook for one minute until very fragrant.

Step 3 Add the shrimp in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink, opaque, and cooked through.
